I was very excited and somewhat taken aback to open my email the other day and see that I’d been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by Amanda at http://thenotsonormalmommy.com! It made me feel so good to see that others were actually reading and enjoying the words I write here on dandelionsacre.com.
The How/Why of my Blog:
Blogging is a labor of love. It provides for me a way to express myself and our way of living through words and pictures that I hope to use to encourage others, as well as giving something tangible for me to look back on after long days on the farm or in the kitchen or rocking a sick baby, or as a sometimes frustrated wife, or quarreling with an obstinate teenager, to remind me that all is right with the world on the good days and that God’s blessings are evident through all the days. To see that others may be using this blog as a means of encouragement, or learning, or even entertainment and feel that maybe it’s worthy of some sort of reward is the icing on the cake. So thank you, Amanda- whom- I’ve- never- met. Her blog, http://thenotsonormalmommy.com is also a fun place to visit to read more about lifestyle and parenting.
Advice I Would Dish Out
If I had to give advice to new bloggers (of which I still consider myself), I would say to write from your head as well as your heart. Know when to back off a little and know when you’ve just got to write. You will have days that you love blogging and days you feel a slave to it. On those particular days, it’s important to take a step back and re-examine your priorities or maybe just take a break for a little while. However, it’s also important to get back to it. Don’t quit, and don’t let it become your master.
I’d now like to promote six other blogs that I feel worthy of recognition. A couple are newer blogs and a few have been around a while (fist bump for staying power). I value these blogs for the passion they hold for life and the stinkin’ good writing skill they use to portray it.
So, congratulations, guys, for receiving the Blogger Recognition Award, nomination! If you’d like to pass the love along, here are the rules:
Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
Write a post to show your award.
Give a brief story of how your blog started.
Give pieces of advice to new bloggers.
Select 5-15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
